Deep Fried Tofu in Soy
Agedashi tofu is a simple Japanese way to serve hot tofu. Eaten with chopsticks. Agedashi tofu is an old and revered dish, first included in a 1782 Japanese cookbook.
Ingredients

300 g
morinaga tofu
|
|
30 ml
cornflour
|
|
oil (for deep frying)
|
|
200 ml
dashi stock
|
|
3 tbsp
Lee Kum Kee soy sauce
|
|
3 tbsp
mirin
|
|
10 g
ginger (finely sliced)
|
|
1
spring onions (finely sliced)
|
|
10 g
dried bonito flakes
|
Preparation

1.
| Cut the well drained tofu into 4 large pieces and dip into the cornflour. Deep fry the tofu for 6-8 minutes until golden. |

| Place in a bowl, top with some of the ginger, spring onion and bonito flakes, and pour over the warm dipping sauce. (Dipping sauce is made by combining dashi stock, soy sauce and mirin in a small pan and bring to simmer). |
